International Student Ministries Banquet
International Community Outreach hosted a banquet last night, which we were privileged to attend. This ministry exists to glorify God by meeting practical and spiritual needs of international students through acts of service and through the proclamation of the gospel of Christ. In other words, the goal is to make sure that no international student leaves Tulsa without having had a meaningful explanation of the Gospel. This is certainly a great and noble task since it is estimated that 1500 to 2000 international students come to Tulsa every year.
Last night, we heard motivating speeches about the importance of ministering to the world which is literally coming to our doorstep. Paul Stefan and I have witnessed groups of students from China, India, Saudi Arabia, and Vietnam (to name a few countries) who are extremely grateful to volunteer English coaches, and we have been blessed to be a part of this ministry.
The definite highlight of the evening was hearing the testimony of a former student from Vietnam who was found by Christ. In addition, I was also struck by the realization that students who come to Christ subsequently reach out to other international students. How much more should I, who am an American, reach out to those who come here from other lands? They are an example of selfless hospitality which I should seek to emulate.

Are we sowing seeds of the Gospel?

Thank you for the encouragement to invest in the people around me. We have an International University here in Salem with which the Lord may open up some doors. Great quote about the seeds!
