Updating our blog has not been our priority recently, as you can see.

Since our last post, we have had special times with special people – both at our home and in other states. Here are some of them:

August - AR - Georg and Martha spent a weekend in Hot Springs, and saw a friend while there.

August - AR - Georg was sung to for his birthday in Hot Springs.

October - Ana Marie and Paul Stefan attended the 90th birthday celebration for Alice Rice - wife of the late Rev. Robert Rice, founder of Literacy & Evangelism International.

October - WI - Georg and Martha attended the wedding celebration of Matt Stewart and Naomi Kamps.

October - TX - Georg and Martha attended Martha's High School reunion.

November - MO - We attended the wedding of Steven Loomis and Rebecca Serven.

November - We celebrated Thanksgiving with Martha's mother and brother's family at our home.

November - With Travis, our cousin who lives the closest to us.

December - Peter Serven visited us on his way to MO from TX.

January - VA - Paul Stefan and Ana Marie enjoyed a few days at the home of the Roe family.

January - VA - With Elizabeth Kellogg, an excellent cellist who played with us for Becca and Elliott's wedding.

February - VA -Staying over after the wedding to spend time with friends (members of the bride's family) and new friends.

February - VA - The Wilkes family showed kind hospitality in having us over to their home for a visit.

February - VA - We spent a week in VA for the wedding and sightseeing, and met this sweet British lady who had come all the way from England for Becca's wedding.

On November 27th, our family remembered, like many do each year, the bountiful blessings God has bestowed upon us.  We spent the afternoon with good friends, read 1 Chronicles 16:8-36, enjoyed a delicious traditional Thanksgiving meal (turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc.), engaged in good conversation, sang songs, ate dessert, and shared things we are thankful for.

Mr. and Mrs. Celick were surprised with a 25th wedding anniversary celebration, and we were grateful to be invited.  They and their children emigrated some years ago from Russia, have made their home here in Tulsa, and are kind friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Schulz, the gracious hosts and instigators of the surprise. 

The Christian Home Educators Fellowship (CHEF) of Oklahoma held it's annual highschool graduation on May 17th.  As every other year, I greatly enjoyed attending and witnessing what was a special day for some of my friends.  This year, 55 seniors received diplomas from their parents.  May God guide them all in their next phase of life.  (more…)

On Friday night, the Kamletz family visited our home.  We enjoyed catching up on their life.  Paul Stefan and I enjoyed spending time with Philip(11) and Talita(9), who amazed us with their competent social skills.  I remember when Talita was a baby – time seems to go so fast!  Philip and Talita proved to be quite knowledgeable in Bible trivia – an asset in playing Bible Outburst! A couple of weeks ago, Heidi, Kara, and I met for lunch at Panera.  The occasion?  Kara would be leaving for Pennsylvania two days later  The three of us were in a Bible study together some years ago and Kara wanted one last time of fellowship before she left. (more…)

On Saturday, January 19, Nathan Ritchie and Starla Adams (whose family we know through homeschooling and being in the Tulsa area) were joined in covenant marriage.  We thoroughly enjoyed witnessing the God-honoring wedding and meeting many friends at the reception.  Click on the photo below for more pictures Peter took!
